Silver Lamellae ring I, No. 623A by Zaha Hadid for Georg Jensen

(Code: 12715 )

Silver Lamellae ring I No. 623A designed by Zaha Hadid for Georg Jensen in the form of a panel of sinuous swept scroll design with a serrated surface, on a plain back hoop, overall size 40 x 41 mm.

Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid, DBE was an Iraqi-born British architect. She was the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize, in 2004. She received the Stirling Prize in 2010 and 2011. She tragically died in March 2016 just weeks before the launch of her jewellery collaboration with Georg Jensen.   In a world full of angles and straight lines, she was known as the ‘queen of curves’ –  her architectural concepts always daring and at the edge of possibility.  Her amazing jewellery designs echo the flowing lines of her buildings, such as the Serpentine Sackler Gallery and the Olympic Aquatics Centre in London.
